FT23-THE UNION OF GOD WITH MAN

Ft-23

THE UNION OF GOD WITH MAN

Nothing escapes Allah’s knowledge therefore; the wise are those who act accordingly. They feel His presence at all times.

The more someone strengthens his obligatory practices by performing voluntary acts, the more his life conforms to the Sharee’ah, the will of Almighty Allah.

Allah conveyed this principle through Prophet Muhammad (saw) in a Hadeeth saying:

“The most beloved thing with which My slave may come close to me is that which I have made obligatory (Fard) on him. My servant will continue to come closer to me by voluntary acts (of worship) until I love him. If I love him, I will be his hearing by which he hears, his sight by which he sees, his hand by which he grasps, and his foot by which he walks. If he asks Me anything I would give it to him and if he seeks refuge in Me I would protect him.” (Al-Bukhari, vol.8 p336-7, no.509)

This Walee of Allah would only hear, see, grasp and walk to what is Halal (lawful) while conspicuously avoiding all Haram (prohibited) as well as that which leads towards it.

Allah’s love can only be attained by strictly following the directives (Sunnah) of His Apostle (saw) and by carefully avoiding all innovations in religious matters.

Surah 4 Al-Imran (The Family of Imran)

31. If you avoid the great sins which you are forbidden to do, We shall remit from you your (small) sins, and admit you to a Noble Entrance (i.e. Paradise).

Roohullaah: The “Spirit” of Allah

Support for the mystic belief in the re-unification of the human soul with Allah has also been falsely deduced from some verses of the Qur’an itself. The following verses in which Allah said

Surah 32 As-Sajdah (Adoration)

9. Then He fashioned him in due proportion, and breathed into him the soul (created by Allah for that person), and He gave you hearing (ears), sight (eyes) and hearts. Little is the thanks you give!

Surah 38 Sad (The Letter Sad)

72. So when I have fashioned him and breathed into him (his) soul created by Me, then you fall down prostrate to him."

Reference has also been made to Prophet ‘Eesa (Jesus) about whose mother Allah said

Suarh 21 Al-Anbiyaa (The Prophets)

91. And (remember) she who guarded her chastity [Virgin Maryam (Mary)], We breathed into (the sleeves of) her (shirt or garment) [through Our Ruh Jibrael (Gabriel)], and We made her and her son ['Iesa (Jesus)] a sign for Al-'Alamin (the mankind and jinns).
Surah 66 At-Tahreem (The Prohibition)

12. And Maryam (Mary), the daughter of 'Imran who guarded her chastity; and We breathed into (the sleeve of her shirt or her garment) through Our Ruh [i.e. Jibrael (Gabriel)], and she testified to the truth of the Words of her Lord [i.e. believed in the Words of Allah: "Be!" and he was; that is 'Iesa (Jesus) son of Maryam (Mary); as a Messenger of Allah], and (also believed in) His Scriptures, and she was of the Qanitin (i.e. obedient to Allah).

Thus it is believed among mystics that this divine eternal spirit within man yearns to reunite with its origin from whence it came

As for the spirit (Rooh), it is one of Allah’s creations. Allah states in the Qur’an

Surah 17 Al-Isra (The Night Journey)

85. And they ask you (O Muhammad (saw)) concerning the Ruh (the Spirit); Say: "The Ruh (the Spirit): it is one of the things, the knowledge of which is only with my Lord. And of knowledge, you (mankind) have been given only a little."

Islam does not consider God to be an incorporeal Spirit, as do some religions like Christianity
He has neither corporeal body nor is He a formless spirit.
He has a form befitting His Majesty, the like of which no man has ever seen or conceived
And which will only be seen (to the degree of man’s finite limitations) by the people of paradise

When Allah refers to the blowing of a spirit from Himself into prophets Adam and ‘Eesa (Jesus), special honor is given to their created spirits due to the prominence of Prophet Adam’s position in relation to the rest of mankind and to clarify the confusion regarding Maryam’s (Mary) virgin birth of Prophet ‘Eesa (Jesus)

Even Allah’s attribution of the act of blowing to Himself, is in fact, a clarification of His Will and Supreme Power, for it is the angels who actually insert and extract souls in to man.

This fact is evident from the following Hadeeth of Ibn Mas’oud who reported that Allah’s Messenger (saw) said, “Verily your creation is combined in your mother’s womb for forty days in the form of an oily fluid, then as a leech-like clot for a similar period and as a clump of flesh for another similar period. Then an angel is sent to him to blow the spirit into him…” (Al-Bukhari vol.4 p290-1 no. 430and Muslim vol.4 p1391 no.6390)

Allah has the spirit blown into every human by one of His angels. By saying that ‘He blew’, Allah in fact reminds us that He is the primary cause of all that takes place in creation, as He said:

Surah 37 As-Saffat (Those Ranged in Ranks)
96. "While Allah has created you and what you make!"

Just prior to the Battle of Badr the Prophet (saw) threw a handful of dust at the enemy ranks assembled hundreds of yards away, but Allah caused some of the dust particles o miraculously reach all eyes of the enemy.

Allah referred to the Prophet’s action as follows:

Surah 8 Al-Anfaal (The Spoils of War)

17. You killed them not, but Allah killed them. And you (Muhammad SAW) threw not when you did throw but Allah threw, that He might test the believers by a fair trial from Him. Verily, Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower.

Allah also refers to the Angels sent to inform Maryam as “His spirit”

Surah 19 Maryam (Mary)

17. She placed a screen (to screen herself) from them; then We sent to her Our Ruh [angel Jibrael (Gabriel)], and he appeared before her in the form of a man in all respects.

The Qur’an is a totality. Its verses explain themselves and the sayings and practices of the Prophet (saw) further clarify its meanings. When verses are taken out of context, the meanings of the Qur’an can easily be distorted.
For example:

Surah 107 Al-Maa’oon (Small Kindnesses)

4. So woe unto those performers of Salat (prayers)

This verse by itself is in total contradiction to the rest of the Qur’an and Islam. Salah has been made obligatory throughout the Qur’an. However, the verses which follow it clarify the intended meaning as:

Surah 107 Al-Maa’oon (Small Kindnesses)

5. Who delay their Salat (prayer) from their stated fixed times,
6. Those who do good deeds only to be seen (of men),
7. And refuse Al-Ma'un (small kindnesses e.g. salt, sugar, water, etc.).

In Islam, there is no distinction between the Arabic term Rooh (spirit – pl. Arwaah) and Nafs (soul – pl. Anfus) with respect to man except that when it is connected to the body it is usually referred to as Nafs.

In the Qur’an Allah (swt) states:

Surah 39 Az-Zumar (The Troops)

42. It is Allah Who takes away the souls at the time of their death, and those that die not during their sleep. He keeps those (souls) for which He has ordained death and sends the rest for a term appointed. Verily, in this are signs for a people who think deeply.
The successful souls will be made to enter paradise as Allah said to the righteous souls

Surah 89 Al-Fajr (The Daybreak)

27. (It will be said to the pious): "O (you) the one in (complete) rest and satisfaction!
28. "Come back to your Lord, Well-pleased (yourself) and well-pleasing unto Him!
29. "Enter you, then, among My honoured slaves,
30. "And enter you My Paradise!"

Thus, in the end, the righteous human soul will not become extinguished in God nor unite with His Supreme Being, but will remain a finite spirit reunited with a finite body enjoying the pleasures of paradise for as long as Allah wishes.

DUA TO ALLAH AZAWAJAL

O Allah! Protector of our Hearts, keep our hearts firm in your true and pure deen, and send your blessings upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad (sallahu alayhi wa sallam).

OTHER DEVIATED BELIEFS

FANAA: THE UNION OF MAN AND GOD

This principle is very similar to the ultimate state of being in Buddhism known as Nirvana
This concept also forms the core of a philosophy known as mysticism.

Mysticism is defined as an experience of union with God and the belief that man’s main goal lies in seeking that union.

A parallel concept can also be found in Hinduism’s identification of Atman (human soul) with Brahman (the impersonal Absolute), the realization of which is the ultimate goal or release from existence and rebirth.

Greek mystic thought blossomed in the Gnostic Christian movements which reached their peak in the second century CE.

These trends were combined in the third century with the Platonism by the Egypto-Roman philosopher, Plotinus (205-270 CE), to form a religious philosophy known as Neo-Platonism.

The mystic tradition kept alive in monastic Christianity began to find expression among Muslims from about 8th century CE, a century after the borders of the Islamic state had expanded to include Egypt and Syria and its major centers of monasticism.

A group of Muslims who were not satisfied with what the Sharee’ah (Islamic Law) had to offer, a developed parallel system which they named the Tareeqah (the way)

The ultimate goal of this movement became Fanaa (the dissolution of the ego) and Wusool (the meeting and unification of the human soul with Allah in this life).

All these practices were attributed to the Prophet (saw) through chains of narration in order to validate them, but there does not exist any authentic support for them in any of the classical books of Hadeeth

A multiplicity of systems evolved, and orders, similar to those among Christian monks, appeared named after their founders, like the Qaadiri, Chishti, Nakhshabandi and Teejani orders.

And just as Christian and Hindu monks chose special isolated structures (i.e. monasteries) in which to house their communities, the Sufi orders developed similar housing schemes called Zaawiyahs (lit corners).

SUFI RETREAT – TURKEY

Most Sufi orders claim that Allah could be seen when the state of Wusool (arrival) was achieved.

Yet when ‘Aishah asked the Prophet (saw) if he saw Allah during Mi’raaj (ascension) he replied that he had not.
Prophet Musa was also shown that neither he nor any man could withstand seeing Allah (swt) in this life by Allah revealing some of His Being to a mountain which crumbled to dust during the revelation.

The mundane obligations of Sharee’ah like five daily prayers were no longer obligatory

Most of them prescribed that prayers to Allah (swt) could be sent through the Prophet (saw) or through the so-called saints; many also began the practice of making Tawaaf, animal sacrifices and other acts of worship around the shrines and tombs of the saints, around the Darghas of countless saints and holy men in India and Pakistan.

The Sharee’ah came to be looked at as the outer path designed for the ignorant masses while the Tareeqah was the inner path of an elite enlightened few

Music was introduced in most circles and drugs like marijuana could be found in others as a means of heightening the pseudo-spiritual experience which they all sought.

The Ritual Dance or Sema
The Mevlevi (also spelled as mawlawi) Ritual dance or sema consists of several stages with different meanings.

During the Sema itself there are four selams or musical movements, each with a distinct rhythm.

At the beginning, during and close of each selam, the semazen testify to God’s existence, unity, majesty and power

The Four Kinds of Selam
The First Selam represents the human being’s birth to truth through feeling and mind. It represents his complete acceptance of his condition as a creature created by God.
The Second Selam expresses the rapture of the human being witnessing the splendor of creation in the face of God’s greatness and omnipotence.

The Third Selem is the rapture of dissolving into love and the sacrifice of the mind to love. It is complete submission, unity and the annihilation of self in the Beloved. This is the state that is known as Nirvana in Buddhism and fana fillah in Islam. The next stage in Islamic belief is the state of servant hood represented by the Prophet, who is called God’s servant foremost and subsequently His ‘Messenger’. The aim of Sema is not uncontrolled ecstasy and loss of consciousness, but the realization of submission to God.
In the Fourth Selam, just as the Prophet ascends to the Spiritual Throne of Allah and then returns to his task on earth, the whirling dervish, after the ascent of his spiritual journey, returns to his task, to his servant hood. He is a servant of God, of His Books, of His Prophets, of His whole Creation

SAINT WORSHIP IN PRE-CHRISTIAN HINDU AND BUDDHIST TRADITON

Teachers who were supposed to have climbed the ladder of spiritual excellence and who had performed supernatural feats were also given the titles like Guru, Avatar, etc., indicating spiritual superiority
These designations have led the masses to either seek intercession through them or to worship them as gods.

Examples:

KENDAI WATER FALL
It is a natural water fall situated on the Bilasipur road about 85 km from District

DEEPADIH
This is the place of mythology. Depadih is situated in Kusmi block about 70 km from Ambikapur district place and 15 km from Kusmi. According to Mr.K.K. Shukla from the Archeologist department, specimens found in Deepati tells the story of 6th Century to 12th Century.

This is the main temple in Samant Sarna at Deepadhi, which is Lord Shankar.
This temple is surrounded by 4 Devs, which are there to guard the Lord Shiva.
They are also serving the Lord Shiva with their various activities.

These 4 Devs were Lord ganesh, Lord Kartikay, Lord Vishnu with all his “Avatars”and Goddess MahaDurga.

SAINT WORSHIP IN ISLAM- deviates from the Qur’an and Sunnah

Even the excessive praise of the Prophet Muhammad (saw) who said, “Do not praise me excessively as the Christians did to ‘Eesaa ibn Maryam, verily I am only a slave, so call me instead the slave of Allah and His messenger.” (Al-Bukhari and Muslim vol.4 p.435 no.654)

THE WALEE (pl. Awliyaa): The “SAINT”

The term saint has been used to translate the Arabic word Walee (pl. Awliyaa) which Allah used, to designate those who were close to Him. But, a more appropriate translation is “close friend” because Walee literally means an “ally.”

Allah (swt) even uses it to refer to Himself in the verse

Surah 2 Al- Baqarah (The Cow)

257. Allah is the Wali (Protector or Guardian) of those who believe. He brings them out from darkness into light. But as for those who disbelieve, their Auliya (supporters and helpers) are Taghut [false deities and false leaders, etc.], they bring them out from light into darkness. Those are the dwellers of the Fire, and they will abide therein forever.

Surah 3 Al-Imran (The Family of Imran)

68. Verily, among mankind who have the best claim to Ibrahim (Abraham) are those who followed him, and this Prophet (Muhammad (saw)) and those who have believed (Muslims). And Allah is the Wali (Protector and Helper) of the believers.

Surah 42 Ash-Shura (The Consultation)

9. Or have they taken (for worship) Auliya' (guardians, supporters, helpers, protectors, etc.) besides Him? But Allah, He Alone is the Wali (Protector, etc.). And it is He Who gives life to the dead, and He is Able to do all things.

Surah 45 Al-Jathiya (Bowing the Knee)

19. Verily, they can avail you nothing against Allah (if He wants to punish you). Verily, the Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers, etc.) are Auliya' (protectors, helpers, etc.) to one another, but Allah is the Wali (Helper, Protector, etc.) of the Muttaqun (pious - see V.2:2).

It is also used in the Qur’an to indicate closeness between men, for example,

Surah 3 Al-Imran (The Family of Imran)

28. Let not the believers take the disbelievers as Auliya (supporters, helpers, etc.) instead of the believers, and whoever does that will never be helped by Allah in any way, except if you indeed fear a danger from them. And Allah warns you against Himself (His Punishment) and to Allah is the final return.

Surah 4 An-Nisa (The Women)

139. Those who take disbelievers for Auliya' (protectors or helpers or friends) instead of believers, do they seek honour, power and glory with them? Verily, then to Allah belongs all honour, power and glory.

Surah 4 An-Nisa (The Women)

144. O you who believe! Take not for Auliya' (protectors or helpers or friends) disbelievers instead of believers. Do you wish to offer Allah a manifest proof against yourselves?

Surah 5 Al-Maidah (The Table Spread with Food)

51. O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians as Auliya' (friends, protectors, helpers, etc.), they are but Auliya' to one another. And if any amongst you takes them as Auliya', then surely he is one of them. Verily, Allah guides not

By Allah! This is a Shaykh who has no lie! He is unique in the age, unique in the whole.

2. Shaykh Fayturi:
Oh the seeker of gnosis and the stations of serenity. Keep the company of a close friend who has fully met the obligation of slaveness to Allah. Do not be content with words. Arise and embark on deeds without delay! You will reach the Station of perfection – there is no god except Allah. If you desire the meaning of the name of His essence, then seek annihilation. Often and openly – you will obtain encounter with Allah. You will obtain the goal by it – you will be given the cup of witnessing to drink. Then you will see all of existence outwardly manifest by the light of Allah. Remember Him in meaning and the senses – you are taking it from light. You will enter the Station of intimacy – your joy is constantly with Allah

Allah (swt) says:
Surah 10 Yunus (The Prophet Jonah)

62. No doubt! Verily, the Auliya' of Allah [i.e. those who believe in the Oneness of Allah and fear Allah much (abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which he has forbidden), and love Allah much (perform all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained)], no fear shall come upon them nor shall they grieve,

63. Those who believed (in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism), and used to fear Allah much (by abstaining from evil deeds and sins and by doing righteous deeds).out from light into darkness. Those are the dwellers of the Fire, and they will abide therein forever.

Consequently, Muslims are not allowed to designate certain believers as being Awliyaa of Allah and not others.

In spite of this clear Islamic position, a hierarchy of so-called Muslim saints has become a prominent feature in Sufi circles and among the masses who blindly follow them. In ascending order of merit they are:

The Akhyaar (chosen) who number 300
The Abdaal (substitutes) numbering 40
The 7 Abrar (pious)
The 4 Awtaad (pegs)
The 3 Nuqabaa (watchmen)
The Qutb (pole) who is considered the greatest saint of his time
And at the top of the list is the Ghawth (Succor), the Greatest Saints, who is believed in some circles, to be capable of taking on his shoulders a portion of the sins of the believers.

According to the beliefs of the “mystics”, the saints of the top three classes are present invisibly in Makkah at the hours of prayer.
When the Ghawth dies, the Qutb replaces him and there is a moving up all through the series. The purest soul of each class rising to the next degree. This body of methodology has been borrowed from Christianity just as Dhikr beads were adopted from the Christian rosary and the Mawlid from the Christian celebration of Christmas

FT20-Taqwa

ft-20

Saint Worship-2

TAQWAA

A living faith drives the one who possesses it to shield himself from whatever displeases Allah. This shield in Arabic is called “Taqwaa.” It has been variously translated as “fear of God”, “piety”, as well as “God-consciousness”; and it carries all these meanings and more.

Allah clearly expressed the superiority of Taqwaa as follows:

Surah 49 Al-Hujaraat (The Inner Apartments)

13. O mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another. Verily, the most honourable of you with Allah is that (believer) who has At-Taqwa [i.e. one of the Muttaqun (pious - see V.2:2). Verily, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware.

The Messenger of Allah (saw) said, “A woman is married for four (reasons): her wealth, her nobility, her beauty and her piety. Choose the pious one and be successful.” (Al-Bukharee vol.7 p.18-19 no.27 and Muslim vol.2 p.249 no.3457)

No matter how beautiful, rich or well-bred a woman might be, if she is not pious, she is inferior to a pious, ugly, poor woman from a dishonorable family.

The converse is also true, as the Prophet (saw) said, “If a man who practices the religion satisfies you, asks for your daughter
in marriage, you should marry them; otherwise there will be corruption in the land.” (Abu Hurayrah and collected by Tirmidhi)

The Prophet (saw) once reprimanded Abu Dharr for derisively calling Bilal, ‘son of a black woman’, then he went on to say, “Look! Surely you are not better than a brown man nor a black man except by fearing Allah more than them.” (Abdullah ibn Amr and collected by Ahmed)

The most pious individuals are only known to Allah (swt). Allah made that abundantly clear in the following verse:

Surah 2Al-Baqarah (The Cow)

204. And of mankind there is he whose speech may please you (O Muhammad (saw)), in this worldly life, and he calls Allah to witness as to that which is in his heart, yet he is the most quarrelsome of the opponents.

Therefore, it is not permissible for humans to designate certain people as being particularly saintly and pious to a degree beyond the reach of ordinary humans.

When the Prophet (saw) said concerning those who make a pledge of allegiance known as Bay’ah ar-Ridwaan, “No one who made a pledge beneath the tree will enter the hellfire,” (Muslim vol.3 p.1034 no.4576) he was confirming the Qur’anic verse revealed to that effect
Surah 48 Al-Fath (Victory)

18. Indeed, Allah was pleased with the believers when they gave their Bai'a (pledge) to you (O Muhammad (saw)) under the tree, He knew what was in their hearts, and He sent down As-Sakinah (calmness and tranquillity) upon them, and He rewarded them with a near victory,

Similarly, he (saw) judged some whom everyone thought were destined to Paradise to be among those destined for Hellfire. All such judgments are based on revelation.

Ibn ‘Abbaas said that he was told by ‘Umar ibn al-Khattaab that on the day (of the battle) of Khaybar, some of the Prophet’s companions came and said, “So and so is a martyr and so and so is a martyr,” but when they came to a man about whom they said, “So and so is a martyr,” Allah’s Messenger declared, “By no means! I have seen him in hell in a cloak which he took (from the spoils) dishonestly.” Allah’s Messenger then said, “Go, Ibn al-Khattaab, and announce among the people three times that only the believers will enter paradise.” (Muslim vol.1 p.65 no.209)

Hadith on the Prophet (saw) hearing Bilal’s footsteps in Paradise

SAINT WORSHIP IN THE CHRISTIAN TRADITION
SAINT WORSHIP IN THE JEWISH TRADITION

FT19- Saint Worship

Ft-19
Saint Worship-1/1

SAINT WORSHIP

It is part of man’s nature to elevate some human beings over others. He likes to hold them in high esteem and prefers to follow them rather than make decisions on his own.

This is a direct result of the fact that Allah (swt) has favored some people over others, in various ways:

Man has been placed over woman socially

Evidence

Surah 4 An-Nisaa (The Women)

34. Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has made one of them to excel the other, and because they spend (to support them) from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient (to Allah and to their husbands), and guard in the husband's absence what Allah orders them to guard (e.g. their chastity, their husband's property, etc.). As to those women on whose part you see ill-conduct, admonish them (first), (next), refuse to share their beds, (and last) beat them (lightly, if it is useful), but if they return to obedience, seek not against them means (of annoyance). Surely, Allah is Ever Most High, Most Great.

Surah 2 Al-Baqarah (The Cow)

228. And divorced women shall wait (as regards their marriage) for three menstrual periods, and it is not lawful for them to conceal what Allah has created in their wombs, if they believe in Allah and the Last Day. And their husbands have the better right to take them back in that period, if they wish for reconciliation. And they (women) have rights (over their husbands as regards living expenses, etc.) similar (to those of their husbands) over them (as regards obedience and respect, etc.) to what is reasonable, but men have a degree (of responsibility) over them. And Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise.

And some men have been placed over other men economically

Evidence

Surah 16 An-Nahl (The Bee)

71. And Allah has preferred some of you above others in wealth and properties. Then, those who are preferred will by no means hand over their wealth and properties to those (slaves) whom their right hands possess, so that they may be equal with them in respect thereof. Do they then deny the Favour of Allah?

The Tribe of Israel was favored over the rest of mankind by divine guidance

Evidence:

Surah 2 Al-Baqarah (The Cow)

47. O Children of Israel! Remember My Favour which I bestowed upon you and that I preferred you to the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns) (of your time period, in the past).

The Prophets were favored over all mankind by revelation and Allah favored some of the Prophets over the others

Evidence

Surah 2 Al-Baqarah (The Cow)

253. Those Messengers! We preferred some to others; to some of them Allah spoke (directly); others He raised to degrees (of honour); and to 'Iesa (Jesus), the son of Maryam (Mary), We gave clear proofs and evidences, and supported him with Ruh-ul-Qudus [Jibrael (Gabriel)]. If Allah had willed, succeeding generations would not have fought against each other, after clear Verses of Allah had come to them, but they differed - some of them believed and others disbelieved. If Allah had willed, they would not have fought against one another, but Allah does what He likes.

Hadith on the 5 prophets favored by Allah (swt)
Nuh (Noah
Musa (Moses)
Ibrahim (Abraham)
Eesa (Jesus)
Muhammad

Yet Allah has told us not to desire the things by which He has favored some of mankind over others

Evidence

Surah 4 An-Nisaa (The Women)

32. And wish not for the things in which Allah has made some of you to excel others. For men there is reward for what they have earned, (and likewise) for women there is reward for what they have earned, and ask Allah of His Bounty. Surely, Allah is Ever All Knower of everything

Allah will not give us a reward for having them, although we will be held accountable for how we used them. Thus Allah’s Messenger (saw) advised us: “Look at those below you and not those above you. It is better for you, so that you do not deny Allah’s blessings on you.” (Al-Bukhari vol.8 p.328 no.497 and Muslim vol. 4 p.1530 no.7070)

Everyone has been placed above others in some way or another, and everyone has certain responsibilities for which he will be held accountable. The Prophet (saw) said, “Everyone of you is a shepherd, and everyone is responsible for his flock.” (Al-Bukhari vol.3 p.438 no.730 and Muslim vol.3 p.1017 no.4496)

The greatest test of responsibility is that of Allah’s favoring man over all creation. This favor was confirmed by Allah’s command to the angels to prostrate to Adam and the responsibility is twofold:

It carries a personal responsibility of accepting Islam: total submission to Allah (swt) (i.e. knowledge and understanding of the Deen)
It also carries a group commitment of establishing Allah’s laws throughout the earth. (i.e. teaching it to everybody, making da’wa, delivering and propagating the Deen)

Note: Allah (swt) elevated man above creation because of his knowledge and his ability of choice. The prostration of the angels to Adam (as) was a prostration of respect / reverence because of the knowledge and ability of choice given by Allah (swt) to Adam (as)

Please see Stories of the Prophets by Ibn Kathir or try this link:
http://www.islamchannel.tv/kidsSection/ProphetStories/Adam.html

Thus believers are far superior to disbelievers in Allah’s sight because of their acceptance of their responsibilities.

Evidence

Surah 3 Al-Imran (The Family of Imran)
110. You [true believers in Islamic Monotheism, and real followers of Prophet Muhammad (saw) and his Sunnah (legal ways, etc.)] are the best of peoples ever raised up for mankind; you enjoin Al-Ma'ruf (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam has ordained) and forbid Al-Munkar (polytheism, disbelief and all that Islam has forbidden), and you believe in Allah. And had the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) believed, it would have been better for them; among them are some who have faith, but most of them are Al-Fasiqun (disobedient to Allah - and rebellious against Allah's Command).

FT18-Tawassul Intermediation Between Allah and the Creation

Tawassul-1

Tawassul Intermediation Between Allah and the Creation

TAWASSUL
Something that is required to reach Allah (swt), to get closer to Allah (swt), to have intermediaries to reach Allah (swt)

Allah (swt) says:

* Surah 30 Ar-Rum (The Romans)

47. And indeed We did send Messengers before you (O Muhammad (saw)) to their own peoples. They came to them with clear proofs, then, We took vengeance on those who committed crimes (disbelief, setting partners in worship with Allah, sins, etc.), and (as for) the believers it was incumbent upon Us to help (them).

* Surah 47 Muhammad

7. O you who believe! If you help (in the cause of) Allah, He will help you, and make your foothold firm.

* Surah 63 Munaafiqoon (The Hypocrites)
8. They (hypocrites) say: "If we return to Al-Madinah, indeed the more honourable ('Abdullah bin Ubai bin Salul, the chief of hypocrites at Al-Madinah) will expel therefrom the meaner (i.e. Allah's Messenger (saw))." But honour, power and glory belong to Allah, His Messenger (Muhammad (saw)), and to the believers, but the hypocrites know not.

Note:
We / Us refers to Allah (swt)
Help Allah (swt) means follows Allah’s (swt) commands
Believers refers to those who follow the Qur’an and Sunnah; while those who don’t, do acts of bid’ah, shirk.
Based on the above verses, no intermediation is needed between Allah (swt) and mankind except for knowledge and understanding of the Deen

Mankind can be divided into three groups in terms of their understanding of how intermediation exists between Allah and His creation

The First Group

*Those who reject that Allah (swt) sent the Messenger (saw) as an intermediary to teach the Sharee’ah (i.e. Allah’s (swt) right to be worshipped alone).

*Their well known saying in this regard is: My heart informed me about my Lord.

*They ridicule the scholars of the Sharee’ah and criticize them because they claim they take their knowledge ‘from the dead’

*The scholars have declared them to be disbelievers and also declare their blood to be lawful due to their apostasy.

*Being ignorant of the first pillar principle of the Sharee’ah which is whoever worships Allah by something other than what was revealed to Muhammad (saw) is without a doubt, a kaafir due to the saying of Allah (swt):

Surah 4 An-Nisaa (The Women)

65. But no, by your Lord, they can have no Faith, until they make you (O Muhammad (saw)) judge in all disputes between them, and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions, and accept (them) with full submission.

Note: The above verse means that unless you use the Qur’an and Sunnah as the basis of all your affairs, you are disbelieving Allah. All affairs must be based on the Qur’an and the Sunnah, there must be no compromises.

As such, Shaytaan has made their actions alluring to them by corrupting their knowledge and extinguishing its light
This group has also been divided into a number of factions each of them disagreeing and fighting with another due to their being far from the Straight Path, the Path of those whom Allah has favored, not of those upon whom is His Anger nor of those who go astray.

E.g. Munkar al-Hadith – they believe in Allah (swt) and the Qur’an but not in Prophet Muhammad (saw) and the Sunnah

E.g. Sufis

The Second Group

Then there are others who exaggerate in this intermediation
Where is this belief in the speech of Allah (swt)?

Surah 2 Al-Baqarah (The Cow)

186. And when My slaves ask you (O Muhammad (saw)) concerning Me, then (answer them), I am indeed near (to them by My Knowledge). I respond to the invocations of the supplicant when he calls on Me (without any mediator or intercessor). So let them obey Me and believe in Me, so that they may be led aright.

Note: The above verse means there is no need to seek intervention or intercession. One may call on Allah (swt) directly to seek His help or His forgiveness.

*Allah (swt) has mentioned Waseelah (the means of getting closer to Him) in the Qur’an intending by it acts of obedience (obedience to Allah) not intermediaries or intercessors.

*Allah has mocked the unmindful ignorant who have taken the righteous servants of Allah as intermediaries while these servants themselves are in need of the means of approach to Allah

*This is the obedience which will bring them closer to Allah

* here is no other path for attaining closeness to Him beside it just like Allah (swt) has mentioned:

Surah 17 Al-Israa (The Night Journey)

57. Those whom they call upon [like 'Iesa (Jesus) son of Maryam (Mary), 'Uzair (Ezra), angel, etc.] desire (for themselves) means of access to their Lord (Allah), as to which of them should be the nearest and they ['Iesa (Jesus), 'Uzair (Ezra), angels, etc.] hope for His Mercy and fear His Torment. Verily, the Torment of your Lord is something to be afraid of!

Note: Even the Prophets need access to Allah (swt)

And from the following ahadeeth:

The saying of the Messenger (saw) to his daughter, the myrtle of his heart: “O Fatima... I can avail you nothing from Allah.”

Abu Huraira reported: When (this verse) was revealed to him:" Warn your nearest kinsmen." the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: O people of Quraish, buy yourselves from Allah, I cannot avail you at all against Allah; O sons of Abd al-Muttalib. I cannot avail you at all against Allah; 0 Abbas b. 'Abd al- Muttalib, I cannot avail you at all against Allah; O Safiya (aunt of the Messenger of Allah), I cannot avail you at all against Allah; O Fatima, daughter of Muhammad, ask me

whatever you like, but I cannot avail you at all against Allah. (Sahih Muslim, Book 001, Number 0402)

And his (saw) saying: “When a man dies his actions cease except for three: recurring charity, knowledge which he imparted and a son which supplicates for him.”

Abu Huraira (Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) as saying: When a man dies, his acts come to an end, but three, recurring charity, or knowledge (by which people) benefit, or a pious son, who prays for him (for the deceased). (Sahih Muslim, Book 013, Number 4005)

The Third Group

*Amongst the Muslims are those who understand intermediation between Allah and his creation to be the Messengership, which consists of knowledge, education and training.

*This group is the saved one which has been mentioned in the previous hadith and which has been given the glad tidings of Paradise

Hadith about the Muslim Ummah divided into 73 sects

Narrated Abu Hurayrah: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: The Jews were split up into seventy-one or seventy-two sects;

and the Christians were split up into seventy one or seventy-two sects; and my community will be split up into seventy-three sects. (Abu Dawud, Book 40, Number 4579)

The Messenger (saw) has informed us the correct Deen is like a stranger to the people when he said: Indeed Islam began as a stranger and shall return as a stranger just as it began, so Tooba (a tree in Paradise) for the strangers. (Muslim from Abu Hurairah)

And in the narration of Imaam Ahmad abd Ibn Maajah: It was then said: O Messenger of Allah, who are the strangers? He (saw) replied: Those looked down by every tribe.

And in the narration by Tirmidhi: So Toobaa for the strangers, those who rectify what the people have corrupted of my Sunnah

And also in the authentic narration of Imaam Ahmad, the Messenger (saw) after being questioned as to who the strangers were, said: “Righteous people amidst a majority of evil people. Those who disobey them are greater than those who obey them.”

Surah 14 Ibrahim (The Prophet Abraham)
12. "And why should we not put our trust in Allah while He indeed has guided us our ways. And we shall certainly

bear with patience all the hurt you may cause us, and in Allah (Alone) let those who trust, put their trust."

Hadith that Believer dunya is a prison while disbeliever dunya is Paradise

FT17- KUFR AND ITS TYPES

Ft17-

KUFR AND ITS TYPES

The following information was excerpted from the appendices to the English translation of Tafseer Ibn Katheer.
The Qur’an uses the word Kufr to denote people who cover up or hide realities.
The Qur’an uses this word to identify those who denied Allah’s favors by not accepting His Dominion and Authority. (Major Sin)
Kufr thus is an antonym for Emaan or Disbelief in Allah and a Kaafir is a non beliver.
This type of Kufr is called AL-KUFR UL AKBAR or major kufr.
There are many types of Al-Kufr ul Akbar:

Types of Al-Kufr ul Akbar

1.) Kufrul-‘Inaad: Disbelief out of stubbornness. This applies to someone who knows the truth and admits to knowing the truth and admits to knowing it with his tongue, but refuses to accept it and refrains from making a declaration. Allah (swt) says: “Throw into Hell every stubborn disbeliever.” (Surah Qaaf /24)

Example: Abu Talib, the Messenger (saw) uncle.

2.) Kufrul-Inkaar: Disbelief out of denial. This applies to someone who denies with both heart and tongue. Allah (swt) says: “They recognized the favors of Allah, yet they deby them. Most of them are disbelievers.” (Surah Nahl/83)

Example: All Idolaters

3.) Kufrul-Kibr: Disbelief out of arrogance and pride.

Example: The disbelief of devils (Iblees).

4.) Kufrul-Junood: Disbelief out of rejection. This applies to someone who acknowledges the truth in his heart, but rejects it with his tongue. This type of kufr is applicable to those who calls themselves Muslims but who reject any necessary and accepted norms of Islam such Salaat and Zakat. Allah (swt) says: “they denied them (Our Signs) even though their hearts believed in them, out of spite and arrogance.” (Surah Naml/14)

5.) Kufrul-Nifaaq: Disbelief out of hypocrisy. This applies to someone who pretends to be a believer but conceals his disbelief. Such a person is called a MUNAFIQ or Hypocrite. Allah (swt) says: “Verily the hypocrites will be in the lowest depths of Hell. You will find no one to help them.” Surah An Nisaa/145)

6.) Kufrul-Istihaal: Disbelief out of trying to make HARAM to HALAL. This someone who accepts as lawful (halal) that which Allah has made unlawful (Haram) like alcohol or adultery. Only Allah (swt) has the prerogative to make things Halal and Haram and those who seek to interfere with His right are like rivals to Him and therefore fall outside the boundaries of faith.

7.) Kufrul-Kurh: Disbelief out of detesting any of Allah (swt) commands. Allah (swt) say: “Perdition (destruction) has been consigned to those who disbelief and He will render their actions void. This is because they are averse to that which Allah has revealed so He has made their actions fruitless.” (Surah Muhammad/8-9)

8.) Kufrul-Istihzaha: Disbelief due to mockery and derision. Allah (swt) says: Say: “Was it at Allah, His signs and His Angels and His apostles that you were mocking? Make no excuses. You have disbelieved after you have believed.” (Surah Tawba/65-66)

9.) Kufrul-I’raadh: Disbelief due to avoidance. This applies to those who turn away and avoid the truth. Allah (swt) says: “And who is more unjust than he who is reminded of his Lord’s signs but then turns away from them. Then he forgets what he has sent forward (for the day of Judgement)” (Surah Kahf/18 and 57)

10.)Kufrul-Istibdaal: Disbelief because of trying to substitute Allah’s Laws. This could take the form of: a.)Rejection of Allah’s law (Sharee’ah) without denying it.
b.) Denial of Allah’s law and therefore rejecting it. Or
c.) Substituting Allah’s laws with a man-made laws. Allah (swt) says: “Or have they partners with Allah who have instituted for them a religion which Allah has not allowed.” (Surah shuraa/8). Allah (swt) says: “Say not concerning that which your tongues put forth falsely (that) is lawful and this is forbidden so as to invent a lie against Allah. Verily, those who invent a lie against Allah will never prosper.” (Surah Nahl/116).

The Difference Between Shirk and Kufr

Any person who rejects the total religion of the Prophet is a Kafir and one of the ways in which a person rejects the message of the Prophet (saw) is by committing Shirk
Therefore every single act of Major Shirk is a type of a Kufr, but not every single type of Kufr involves Shirk.

Thus Kufr is the general name given to any act, statement or belief that might expel a person from the fold of Islam and Shirk is the most common and evil form of Kufr.
Many acts have elements of both Kufr and Shirk in them, even though each act might be more representative of one of these two matters.

FT16- The Ruling of Building Shrines and Mausoleums Upon the Graves

Ft16-

The Ruling of Building Shrines and Mausoleums Upon The Graves

Evidence:

From Jaabir bin ‘Abdullah (ra) who said that the Messenger of Allah (saw) prohibited plastering of the graves and sitting upon it and building upon it.
From ‘Abu Al-Hayaaj Al-Asadiy who said ‘Ali Ibn Taalib (ra) said to me, “I am dispatching you upon what the Messenger dispatched me upon, that, “You do not leave statues except you deface it or nor a grave raised except you level it.”
He (saw) said “Do not take my grave as idol” “Do not take my grave as place often returning” “Allah’s most sever anger is upon a nation who took the graves of their Prophets as places of worship, i.e.(Masjids.)”

The Prohibition of Some Acts With Regards to Graves

The Messenger of Allah (saw) said, “Do not pray towards the graves and do not sit upon them.”
Insult and oppression on both the living and the dead is prohibited. Hence building roads, car parks, shops and other types of insult upon graves is prohibited.

Annual Visiting of Some Appointed Graves

1.) A Legislated visiting (Sharee’ah) only to 3 Masjids. (Masjid al-Haraam, Masjid al-Aqsa,

Masjid an-Nabawi)

2.) An innovated visiting (Bid’eeyah). Is when one does evil talk at the graves and seeks

aid from them instead of Allah.

3.) A visiting os Shirk (Shirkeeyah): Is when one supplicates to them, or sacrifices to them or

vows by them, as opposed to Allah.

The Prohibition of Harming the Muslims

Ibn ‘Umar (ra) said, The Messenger (saw) ascended the minbar and called out with a loud voice and said, “Oh gathering, who submit with your tongue, and emaan has not entered your hearts, do not harm the Muslims, do not insult them and do not pursue their mistakes. For verily the one who pursues the mistakes of his Muslim brother, then Allah will pursue his mistakes and whoever’s mistakes are pursued by Allah then He will expose him even if he was on the inside of his camel’s saddle.”

FT15- Be Careful of Innovation in the Deen

Ft15

Be Careful of Innovation in the Deen.

Evidence:1

From ‘Aa’shah (ra) who said that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said, “Whoever introduces into this affair of ours that wich is not from it then it is rejected. (ie, it is not accepted)---Bukhari 167/3 and Muslim 1343/4.

The Messenger (saw) did not say ‘according to the intention of the one who did it, ‘rather he ruled it to be rejected.

Evidence;2

From Jaabir bin ‘Abdullah (ra) who said when Allah’s Messenger (saw) used to give a sermon he would say, “..Verily the best speech is the Book of Allah and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad and the worst of the affairs are the newly invented matters (and every newly invented matter is an innovation) and every innovation is misguidance (and every misguidance is in the fire).”

Note that! The Messenger (saw) ruled every innovation, not some.

SO IF SOMEONE WERE TO OPPOSE THE MESSENGER

Then say to him: IS THAT, your saying is in opposition to “The saying of Allah (swt), and the Messenger (saw).”

Evidence:

“And whoever contradicts and opposes the Messenger (saw) after the right path has been shown clearly to him, and follows other the believers’ way, we shall keep him the path that he has chosen, and burn him in Hell-what an evil destination!”

The Following Lesson Can Be Taken From the Two Ahadith

- Prohibition of building upon the graves
- Prohibition of plastering graves
- Prohibition of sitting upon graves
- Prohibition of pictures of those things which have a soul

The Obligation to deface pictures/statues (shapes) of those things which have a ruh (soul).

The Obligation to destroy whatever is built upon the graves greater than a hand span.

FT14- WHAT IS BID'AH (Innovation)?

FT14

What is Bid'ah (Innovation)?

Bid’ah: is every belief or saying or action which came about after the death of the
Prophet (saw) with the intention of worship and seeking nearness (To Allah) without any evidence for it from the book or from the Sunnah.

Bid’ah (Innovation) is of Two Types

1.) Major Bid’ah: It is the bid’ah of Kufr and it expels one from the religion.

This is one who calls others to the bid’ah (innovation)

2.) Lesser Bid’ah: it does not expel one from the religion but it is a sin,

these are ones who do not call to bid’ah (Innovation)

The Five Categories of Bid’ah

1.) Bid’ah I’tiqaadeeyah
2.) Bid’ah Lafdheeyah
3.) Bid’ah Badaneeyah
4.) Bid’ah Maaleeyah
5.) Bid’ah Tarkeeyah

*All of them are misguidance and some of them are more evil than others.*

Bid’ah I’tiqaadeeyah (Belief)
It is every belief opposing the Book and Sunnah

Bi’ah Lafdheeyah (Words)

It is every saying which a person utters (intended) as worship and

it is in opposition to the Book and the Sunnah.

Bid’ah Badaneeyah (Movement)
It is every movement, which originates from a person (intended) as worship and

it is in opposition to the Book and Sunnah.

Bid’ah Maaleeyah (Wealth)
It is every item of wealth, which is spent as worship on things are in opposition

to the Book and Sunnah.

Bid’ah Tarkeeyah (Abandoned)
It is everything that is abandoned from the Deen or the permissible and lawful,

intended as Worship, such as the one who leaves marriage or leaves eating,

meat intending worship, piety and self-denial.

FT13- No One Knows The Unseen Except Allaah Alone

FT13

No One Knows the Unseen Except Allaah Alone

Evidence 1:

“ Say: (O Muhammad): “I possess no power of benefit or hurt to hurt myself except as Allaah wills. If I had knowledge of the unseen, I should have secured for myself an abundance of wealth, and no evil should have touched me. I am but a warner, and a bringer of glad tiding unto people who believe.”---Al-‘Araaf:188

“Say: “none in the heavens and the earth knows the unseen except Allah nor can they perceive when they shall be resurrected”---Naml:65

“Then when we decreed death for him (Sulaimaan), nothing informed them (the jinn) of his death except a little worm of the earth which kept (slowly) gnawing away at his stick. So when he fell down the jinn saw clearly that if they had known the unseen, they would not have stayed in the humiliating torment.”---Saba:14

“And to Allaah belongs the unseen of the Heavens and the Earth.” ---Hood:123

No One Knows the Unseen Except Allaah Alone, Having No Partners

From Abdullah bin ‘Umar (ra) who said that the Messenger of Allaah (saw) said, “The keys of the unseen knowledge are five which nobody knows but Allaah:

1.) Nobody knows what will happen tomorrow but Allah
2.) Nobody knows what is in the womb but Allah
3.) Nobody knows what he will earn or gain tomorrow
4.) Nobody knows at what place he will die but Allah
5.) Nobody knows when it will rain but Allah

The Obligation to Trust in Allaah Alone

Evidence1:

“The when you have taken a decision, put your trust in Allaah, certainly, Allah loves those who put their trust in Him.”---‘Al-‘IMraan:159

“And put your trust (O Muhammad) in the Ever-Living One who dies not, and Glorify His praises, and sufficient is He as the All-Knower of the sins of His slaves”---Al-Firqan:58

From Umar bin Al-Khattaab (ra) that he heard the Prophet (saw) say, “If you trusted in the Allaah as He should be trusted, He would guarantee your provision as He provides for the birds, they leave hungry and return full.”---At-Tirmidhee 4/573

FT12- The Prohibition of Approaching Soothsayers/Fortune Tellers/Wearing Amulets

The Prohibition of Approaching Soothsayers and Fortune Tellers

The Soothsayer (Al-Kaahin): He is the one who informs the people about the things from the unseen which have not yet happened.

• From Aa’shah (ra) who said that some people asked the Prophet (saw) regarding the Soothsayers. He said “They are nothing. They said, “Oh Messenger of Allah, some of their talks come true.” The Prophet said (saw)”The word which happens to be true is what a jinn snatches away by stealth (from heavens) and pours it in the ears of his friend (the fortune teller) with a sound like the cackling of a hen. The soothsayers then mix with that word, more that one hundred lies.”---Al-Bukharee 7/28,7/122,8/218

The Prohibition of Wearing Amulets

From Abu Basheer Al-Ansaree (ra) who said that he was in the company of the Messenger of Allaah (saw) on some of his journeys. The Messenger of Allaah (saw) sent a messenger ordering. “There shall not remain any necklace of string or any other kind of necklace round the necks of camels except it is cut off.”---Al-Bukharee 4/8

From Ruwayfa’ Bin Thabit (ra), that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said “Oh Ruwayfa’ perhaps you will live long after me so inform the people that whoever ties a knot in his beard or wears a string necklace or cleans his private parts with the excrement of animals or bones, they verily Muhammad is free from him.” ---Nisaa 8/135-136.

It can be extracted from these a hadeeth that wearing amulets is prohibited whether it is worn on a person, an animal, a car, a house, a shop, a tree or other than that.

FT11- Is The Astrologer A Magician?

Is the Astrologer A Magician?

• From ‘Abdullah bin Abbaas (ra) who said that the Mesenger of Allaah (saw) said “ Whoever seeks to acquires knowledge from the stars, has acquired a portion from magic, which increases as his seeking increases.”----Aboo Dawood 4/16

• From this hadith it is clarified for you that every Astrologer is a Magician and that as a person increases in astrology he increases in magic.

“They followed what the Shayaateen (devils) gave out (falsely of the magic) in the lifetime of Sulaiman. Sulaiman did not disbelieve, but the Shayaateen disbelieved, teaching men and magic and such things that came down at Babylon to the two Angels, Haaroot and Maaroot, but neither of these two (Angels taught anyone (such things) till they said ‘We are only for trial ,so disbelieve not by (learning this magic from us’) And form these (Angels) people learn that by which they separation between man and his wife, but they could not thus harm anyone except by Allaah’s permission. And they learn that which harms them and profits them not. And indeed they knew that the buyers of it (magic) would have no share in the Hereafter. And how bad indeed was that for which they sold their own selves, if they but knew. And if they had believed and guarded themselves from the evil and kept their duty to Allaah, far better would have been the reward from their Lord, if they buy knew !” ---Al-Baqarah:102-103
• This noble verse shows with clarity that it is not possible for a person to learn magic except that he commits KUFR (Disbelief), and if he commits kufr, he will learn it and so on the basis of this noble verse the magician is a Kaafir, we seek refuge with Allaah from the Kufr and Ilhaab(heresy) and from the actions of the people of the Fire.

FT10- The Prohibition of Supplication/Vows/Sacrificing/Swearing

The Prohibition of Supplication to Other than Allaah

Evidence 1:
"Verily, those whom you call upon besides Allaah are slave like you. So call upon them and let them answer you if you are truthful."(Al-Araaf:194)

Evidence 2:
"And those whom you call upon besides Him (Allaah) cannot help you not can they help themselves" (Al-Araaf:197)

Evidence 1:
"Those whom they (the Polytheist) invoke besides Allaah have not created anything, but are themselves created. They are dead, not alive, and they know not when they will be raised up." (An-Nahl:20-21)

Evidence 2:
"O Mankind! A similitude has been coined, so listen to it; Verily, those whom you call besides Allaah, cannot create (even) a fly, even if they combine together for a purpose. And if the fly snatches a thing away from them, they will have no power to release it from the fly, so waek are (both) the seeker and the sought."(Al-Hajj:73)

Evidence 3:
"…Such is Allaah, your Lord; His is the Kingdom. And those, whom you invoke or call upon instead of Him, own not even a Qitmir (the thin membrane over the date-stone). If you invoke (or call upon) them, they hear not you call: and if (in case) they were to hear, they could not grand it (your request) to you. And on the Day of Resurrection, they will disown your worshipping them. And none can inform you (O Muhammad) like Him who the All-Knower (of everything) (Faatir: 13-14)

From Abdullah Ibn Abbas (ra) who said that he was ridding behind the Messenger of Allaah (saw) who said to him,
"Oh young boy, I will teach you some words. Remember Allaah and He will remember you. Remember Allaah and you find Him supporting you when you ask. Then ask from Allaah and when you seek help then seek help from Allaah. And know if the nations were to unite upon something by which they would benefit you, they would not be able to benefit you except by something which Allaah has already prescribed for you. And if the nations were to unite upon something by which they would harm you they would not be able to harm you except by something which Allaah has already prescribed for you. The pens have been lifted and the pages are dry." (Aboo Daawood 2/67-77)

The Vows is Worship and Worship is not be Established Except for Allaah

Evidence:

"And wheatever you spend from your wealth (e.g.Sadaqa-Charity for Allah's cause) or whatever vow you make, be sure Allahs knows it all. And for the Dhaalimoon (Wrongdoers) there are no helpers."…Al-Baqarah:270

"(Remember) when the wife of 'Imraan said:"O my Lord! I have vowed to You (the child that is in my womb to be dedicated to your services) (free from all worldly work;to serve Your place of worship), so accept this from me. Verily, you are the Hearer, the All-Knowing."---Aal-'Imraan:35

From 'Aishah (ra) who said that the Prophet (saw) said "Whoever vows that he will be obedient to Allaah, should remain obedient to Him, and whoever made a vow that he will disobey Allah, should not disobey Him."…Al-Bukharee 7/233,243.

The Prohibition of Sacrificing for Other than Allaah

From ' Ali bin Abi Talib (ra) who said that the Messenger of Allaah (saw) said, "Allaah has cursed whoever sacrifices to other than Allaah."---Muslim 3/1567

"Say (O Muhammad): 'Verily, my Salaat (prayer),my sacrifice,my living and my dying are for Allaah, the Lord of the Aalimeen (Mankind,Jinn and all that exists). He has no partner. And of this I have been commanded, and I am the first of Muslims."---Al-An'aam:162-163

Evidence 2:
"Therefore turn in prayer to your Lord and sacrifice (to Him only)."---Al-Kauthar:2

Except if he repents to Allaah (swt), so whoever repents then Allaah will forgive Him. "Allaah has cursed whoever sacrifices to other than Allaah."---Muslim 3/1567.
The Prohibition of Swearing By Other Than Allaah

From Abdullah bin Umar (ra) that the Messenger of Allaah (saw) met Umar bin Al-Khattab (ra) while the latter was going with a group of camel-riders, and he was swearing by his father. The prophet (saw) said, "Behold! Allaah forbids you to swear by your fathers, so whoever has take an oath, he should swear by Allaah or keep quiet."---Al-Bukharee 8/641

From Buraidah (ra) who said that the Messenger of Allaah (saw) said, "Whoever takes an oath by the trust he is not from us."---Aboo Dawoo 3/223

From these authentic Prophetic evidences is a clarification of the prohibition of taking oath by other than Alaah.
Such as by the 'trust' and by the 'life' of by the 'salt' or by the honor or by the father, grandfather, the 'ka'bah', the prophet (saw) or by brothers or friendship or by colleague-ship or by military rank, to swear by divorce, and other that instead of Allaah.
And taking an oath is not permissible to be established for anyone except Allaah alone, having no partner.

FT09- The Definition of Shirk/Types/Categories

Definition of Shirk

-Linguistically the word "Shirk" implies a partner or helper
-Islamically it means "Affirming partners (Sharik with Allaah) also
-Means to make a Du'a to other than Allaah in Matters which is only Allaah should be asked, also
-To believe that a certain objects has powers that only Allaah has, also
-Intending an act of worship that Allaah has commanded to other than Allaah.

Shirk is of Two Types

1.) Shirk of Belief: Akbar (the major) it expels one from the religion, also known as Shirk of Kufr (disbelief)

*This is of Three Types:

1.) Shirk in Ruboobeeyah (Lordship)
2.) Shirk in Ulooheeyah (Worship)
3.) Shirk on Asmaa was Sifaat ( Names and Attributes)

2.) Shirk of Action: Asghar (the minor) it does not expel one from the religion.

*This is of Three types

1.) Shirk of Showing off and publicity
2.) Hidden Shirk
3.) The Verbal Shirk

The Dangers of Shirk With Allaah (Ascribing Patners to Allaah)

Evidence 1:

"Verily, Allaah forgive snot that partners should be set up with Him (in worship), but He forgives other than that to whom He wills; and whoever sets up partners with Allaah on worship, he ahs indeed a tremendous sin."---An-Nisaa:48

Evidence 2:

"And whoever sets partners in worship with Allaah, has indeed strayed far away."---An-Nisaa:116

Evidence 3

"And whoever assigns partners to Allaah, it is as if he has had fallen from the sky and Birds had snatched him or the wind had thrown him to a far off place."---Hajj:31

Evidence 4

"Verily whoever sets up partners (in worship with Allaah, then Allaah has forbidden ..:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />..:NAMESPACE PREFIX = ST1 />Paradise to him and the fire will be his abode."---Al-Maaidah:65

Evidence 5

"If you join others in worship with Allaah, then surely your deeds will be in vain and you certainly be amongst the losers."---Az-Zumar:65

Evidence from the Sunnah

He (saw) said, "Whoever dies without associating anything with Allaah will enter paradise and whoever dies associating anything with Allaah will enter the fire."—Muslim 1/94.
Categories of Shirk are Many
We will mention fourteen types of them:

1. Shirk in Ruboobeeyah (Lordship)

FT08- The Essence of the Deen of Islaam

The Essence of the Deen of Islaam.

can be summarized into two basic important and, mighty principles and they are as follows:
Firstly: That we do not worship anything except Allaah (alone),having no partners

Evidence:

"And your lord has decreed that you worship none but him" ---Al-Israa:23

Secondly: That we do not worship Him except by what He legislated.

Evidence:

"Follow what has been sent down to unto you from your Lord and follow not any 'Awliyaa besides Him (Allaah). Little do they remember! ---Al-Araaf:3

*This is the meaning of: "I bear witness that Muhammad (saw) is the Messenger of Allaah."*

The Two types of Hypocrisy (Nifaaq)

Hypocrisy is divided into two categories and they are as follows

1.) Hypocrisy of Belief (Major)-it expels one from religion

2.) Hypocrisy of Action (Minor)-Must Repent.

Explanation of Hypocrisy of Belief:

-It is outwardly demonstrate Islaam whilst inwardly there is Kufr (disbelief). It is Major (kabira), also known as Hypocrisy of Kufr, and it expel one from religion.

Evidence:

"Verily, the hypocrites will be in lowest depth (grade) of the fire; no helper will find them. Except those repent (from hypocrisy), do righteous deeds, holds fast to Allaah, and purify their religion for Alllaah (by worshipping none but Allaah, and do good for Allaah's sake only, not to show off) then they will be with the believers. And allaah will grant the belivers a great reward."---An-Nisaa: 145-146

Explanation of Hypocrisy of Action:

-This type of hypocrisy is the lesser (Minor ie, Saghira) and does not expel ht individual from the fold of Islaam, but it is obligatory to repent from it.

-It has categories and is what is mentioned in this hadeeth,

"From Abdullah ibn Umar(ra), who said that the Messenger (Saw) said, "There are four characteristics of Hypocrisy , whoever has all of them in him is a true hypocrite, and whoever has in him some of them, then he has some part of hypocrisy in him until he leaves it. When he Trusted he proves to be Dishonest. When he Speaks he Lies. When he makes a Promise he Breaks it. When he Disputes he uses Evil Language."---Reported by Al-Bukharee 1/14 and Muslim 1/78

* Know that Allaah (swt) does not accept any action from any doer, unless it satisfies two basic conditions:

1.) That is done purely for the sake of Allaah

Evidence:
"Verily, We have sent down the Book to you (O Muhammad) in truth: So worship Allaah (Alone) by doing religious deeds sincerely for Allaah's sake only, Surely, the Religion (i.e. the worship and the obedience) is for Allaah Alone."---Az-Zumar:2-3

FT04-The Definition of Tawheed

*Tawheed has two fundamental pillar:

1. Singling out Allah Alone ofr Worhsip

"And Indeed we sent Nooh to his people (and he said): "I have come to you as a plain warner." That you worship none but Allah. Surely I fear for you the tornment of a painful day." ---Hood:25-26

"Say (O Mohammad): "If you (really) love Allah then follow me. Allah will love you and forgive you of your sins. And Allaah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful."---Al-Imran:31

"And whatsoever the messenger gives you, take it, and whatsoever he forbids you, abstain (from it) And fear Allah. Verily, Allah is severe in punishment."---Al-Hashr:7

*The Evidences of Tawheed*

"And when Allah Alone is mentioned, the hearts of those who believes not in the heareafter are filled with disgust (from oneness of Allah) and when those (whom they obey or worship)besides Him are mentioned, they rejoiced!"---Az-Zumar:45

-From Abdullah Ibn Abbas(ra),that when the Messenger (saw)sent Mu'aadh(ra)to Yemen he said to him "Verily you are going to the people from people of the book so let the first thing that you call them to be Tawheed of Allaah, the Most High..."---Reported by Bukhari 8/164

-From Tariq bin Asheem(ra) who said, "I heard the Messenger of Allaah(saw) say,"Whoever single out Allah for worhsip and disbelieves whatever is worshipped besides Him then he has made his wealth and his blood unlawful and his reckoning in with Allaah, the Migthy and Majestic3"...Reported by Sahih Muslim 1/5

-From Abdullah ibn Umar(ra)who said the prophet (saw) said "Islaam is built upon five, upon the tawheed of Allaah and the establishment of Prayer;the giving of zakaat;fasting in ramadan and Hajj" ---Reported by Muslim 1/45

In these evidences there is reputation againts the ignorant ones who deny Tawheed.
