KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge comes before every expression and every action. It is the beginning of all affairs.
Surah 96 Al-‘Alaq (The Clot)
1. Read! In the Name of your Lord Who has created (all that exists).
2. He has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood).
3. Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous.
4. Who has taught (the writing) by the pen.
5. He has taught man that which he knew not.
Surah 16 An-Nahl (The Bees)
78. And Allah has brought you out from the wombs of your mothers while you know nothing. And He gave you hearing, sight, and hearts that you might give thanks (to Allah)
Blessings of Allah (swt) for 1 purpose = IQRA (Read)/ Knowledge
Surah 17 Al-Isra (The Journey by Night)
36. And follow not (O man, i.e., say not or do not or witness not) that of which you have no knowledge. Verily, the hearing, and the sight, and the heart of each of those ones will be questioned (by Allah)
ALL body parts will testify (on the Day of Judgment) of what a person used to do
DO NOT say that of which you have no knowledge
Religion of Islam = religion of clear knowledge
Correct knowledge of Tawheed is foremost / most important
It is fardhu ain (an individual obligation) to seek knowledge.
Moon vs stars: knowledgeable vs. unlearned --- moon is smaller in size compared to the stars but gives more light.

HADITH
If Allah (swt) wishes good for you, He gives you understanding of the Deen.
The best of you is the one who learns the Qur’an and teaches it.
That Knowledge is useless if not followed by practice (words and actions).
Narrated Mu’awiya (ra) in a Khutba (religious talk)
I heard Allah’s Messenger (saw) saying, “If Allah (swt) wants to do good to a person, He makes him comprehend the religion (the understanding of the Qur’an and the Sunna (legal ways) of the Prophet (saw))…
Narrated ‘Abdullah bin Mas’ud (ra)
The Prophet (saw) said, “Do not wish to be like anyone except in two cases. The first is a person, whom Allah has given wealth and he spends it righteously (according to what Allah has ordained in a just and right way); (the second is) the one whom Allah has given Al-Hikmah (wisdom i.e. knowledge of the Qur’an and Sunnah (legal ways) of the Prophet (saw)) and he acts according to it and teaches it to others.
What benefits a person after his death
beneficial knowledge
righteous child who supplicates for you
ongoing charity
TAWHEED
The knowledge that Allah (swt) solely possesses the most perfect attributes, acknowledging Him to be the sole possessor of the greatest and most majestic attributes, and singling Him out (making Him exclusive) for worship (Ibadah)
Tawheed is the right of Allah (swt) most obligatory upon His worshippers. It is the greatest of all religious commands and it is the foremost basis / foundation of ALL our deeds.
MEANING OF “Laa Ilaaha Ill Allah”
There is no one who has the right to be worshipped except Allah (swt) and whatever is worshipped besides Allah (swt) then it is done so with falsehood.
Saying “Laa Ilaaha Ill Allah” with sincerity (Ikhlas)
Who is your Lord/ Rabb? Creator, Originator, Provider, Sustainer
TAGHUT

PROOF OF EVOLUTION
Surah 2 Al-Baqarah (The Cow)
164. Verily, in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the alteration of night and day, and the ships that sail through the sea with that which is of use to mankind, and the water (rain) which Allah sends down from the sky and makes the earth alive therewith after its death, and the moving (living) creatures of all kinds that he has scattered therein, and in the veering of the winds and clouds which are held between the sky and the earth, are indeed Ayat (proof, evidences, sign, etc) for people of understanding.
Evidences
Surah 22 Al-Hajj (The Pilgrimage)
62. That is because Allah He is the Truth (the only True God of all that exists, Who has no partners or rivals with Him), and what they (the polytheists) invoke besides Him, it is Batil (falsehood) And verily, Allah He is the Most High, the Most Great.
Surah 47 Muhammad
19. So know (O Muhammad SAW) that La ilaha ill-Allah (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah), and ask forgiveness for your sin, and also for (the sin of) believing men and believing women. And Allah knows well your moving about, and your place of rest (in your homes).
MEANING OF “Muhammadur Rasoolullah” (saw)
There is no one rightfully worthy of being followed except the Messenger of Allah (saw) and if anyone other than the Messenger of Allah (saw) is followed in that which he has no evidence for then verily this following is done so with falsehood.
Muhammad (saw) started his prophethood at age 40, died at 63.
23 years of prophethood --- call to Tawheed (oneness of Allah (swt))
Evidences
Surah 7 Al-A’raaf (The Heights or the Wall with Elevations)
3. [Say (O Muhammad SAW) to these idolaters (pagan Arabs) of your folk:] Follow what has been sent down unto you from your Lord (the Quran and Prophet Muhammad's Sunnah), and follow not any Auliya' (protectors and helpers, etc. who order you to associate partners in worship with Allah), besides Him (Allah). Little do you remember!
Surah 33 Al-Ahzaab (The Confederates)
36. It is not for a believer, man or woman, when Allah and His Messenger have decreed a matter that they should have any option in their decision. And whoever disobeys Allah and His Messenger, he has indeed strayed in a plain error.
WHERE IS ALLAH (swt)
Allah (swt) is where He says He is (i.e. above His Throne)
Allah (swt) is everywhere with us in His perfect knowledge
Evidences
Surah 20 TaaHaa

Surah 35 Faatir (The Originator of Creation)
10. Whosoever desires honour, power and glory then to Allah belong all honour, power and glory [and one can get honour, power and glory only by obeying and worshipping Allah (Alone)]. To Him ascend (all) the goodly words, and the righteous deeds exalt it (the goodly words i.e. the goodly words are not accepted by Allah unless and until they are followed by good deeds), but those who plot evils, theirs will be severe torment. And the plotting of such will perish.
DEFINITION OF ISLAM
Al-Islaam: It is to submit to Allah (swt) with Tawheed and to yield to Him with obedience and purity from Shirk and Bid’ah (innovation) and their people.
MUHTADI – the ones who do bidaah (innovations)
SHIRK – polytheism and it is to worship others along with Allah
Evidences
Surah 5 Al-Maaidah (The Table Spread With Food)
3. Forbidden to you (for food) are: Al-Maytatah (the dead animals - cattle-beast not slaughtered), blood, the flesh of swine, and the meat of that which has been slaughtered as a sacrifice for others than Allah, or has been slaughtered for idols, etc., or on which Allah's Name has not been mentioned while slaughtering, and that which has been killed by strangling, or by a violent blow, or by a headlong fall, or by the goring of horns - and that which has been (partly) eaten by a wild animal - unless you are able to slaughter it (before its death) and that which is sacrificed (slaughtered) on AnNusub (stone altars). (Forbidden) also is to use arrows seeking luck or decision, (all) that is Fisqun (disobedience of Allah and sin). This day, those who disbelieved have given up all hope of your religion, so fear them not, but fear Me. This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion. But as for him who is forced by severe hunger, with no inclination to sin (such can eat these above-mentioned meats), then surely, Allah is Oft Forgiving, Most Merciful
Surah 3 Al-Imran (The Family of Imran)
102. O you who believe! Fear Allah (by doing all that He has ordered and by abstaining from all that He has forbidden) as He should be feared. [Obey Him, be thankful to Him, and remember Him always], and die not except in a state of Islam (as Muslims) with complete submission to Allah.
Surah 3 Al-Imran (The Family of Imran)
85. And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers.
