The Soothsayer (Al-Kaahin): He is the one who informs the people about the things from the unseen which have not yet happened.
• From Aa’shah (ra) who said that some people asked the Prophet (saw) regarding the Soothsayers. He said “They are nothing. They said, “Oh Messenger of Allah, some of their talks come true.” The Prophet said (saw)”The word which happens to be true is what a jinn snatches away by stealth (from heavens) and pours it in the ears of his friend (the fortune teller) with a sound like the cackling of a hen. The soothsayers then mix with that word, more that one hundred lies.”---Al-Bukharee 7/28,7/122,8/218The Prohibition of Wearing Amulets
From Abu Basheer Al-Ansaree (ra) who said that he was in the company of the Messenger of Allaah (saw) on some of his journeys. The Messenger of Allaah (saw) sent a messenger ordering. “There shall not remain any necklace of string or any other kind of necklace round the necks of camels except it is cut off.”---Al-Bukharee 4/8
From Ruwayfa’ Bin Thabit (ra), that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said “Oh Ruwayfa’ perhaps you will live long after me so inform the people that whoever ties a knot in his beard or wears a string necklace or cleans his private parts with the excrement of animals or bones, they verily Muhammad is free from him.” ---Nisaa 8/135-136.
It can be extracted from these a hadeeth that wearing amulets is prohibited whether it is worn on a person, an animal, a car, a house, a shop, a tree or other than that.
