LIST OF QUALITIES THAT LEAD TO COMPLETENESS OF FAITH


Belief in Allah(swt): in His Existence and Oneness, in the perfection of His
Essence and Attributes; belief that everything other than Him is created by Him

Belief in the Messengers of Allah

Belief in the Books of Allah

Belief in the angels

Belief in the divine decree

Belief in the Last Day

Love of Allah (swt)

Fear of Allah (swt)

Hope in Allah (swt)

Trust in Allah (swt)

Loving the Prophet (saw)

Venerating the Prophet (saw) and following his Sunnah

Sincerity and not showing off

Repentance

Gratitude for the blessings of Allah (swt)

Patience

Mercy, compassion

Haya’ (modesty, shyness)

Reading and venerating the Qur’an

Seeking knowledge and teaching others

Spreading knowledge and teaching others

Du’aa’ (supplication)

Dhikr (remembering Allah) and praying for forgiveness

Guarding one’s tongue and avoiding idle speech

Purifying oneself physically and spiritually

Offering obligatory and Nawafil (optional) prayers

Giving obligatory and Nawafil Zakah

Observing obligatory and Nawafil fasts

I’tikaaf

Jihad for the sake of Allah (swt)

Prohibition of crimes against people

Refraining from Haram (unlawful) sources of wealth

Moderation in spending

Protecting honour

Being happy when doing good and sad when doing bad

Obeying the ruler

Enjoining what is good and forbidding what is evil

Cooperating in righteousness and piety

Adhering to the way of the Jamaa’ah (the mainstream of Islam)

Being just

Honouring one’s parents

Upholding ties of kinship

Having a good attitude

Reconciling between people

Keeping away from the set limits

Establishing the command of Allah (swt)

Honouring one’s neighbour

Returning the greetings of Salam

Visiting the sick

Saying Yarhamuk Allah (May Allah have mercy on you) to one who sneezes

Honouring one’s guest

Ascetism (Zuhd’)

Protective jealousy (Gheerah)

Generosity

Compassion towards the young and respect towards the old

Loving for one’s brother what he loves for oneself

Being careful in spending by spending appropriately

Proper dealing by ensuring that one’s earnings are Halal (lawful)

Refraining from harming people

Offering the funeral prayer for the dead etc

Concealing those who have committed sin

Protecting children’s rights

Loving for the sake of Allah (swt)
Hating for the sake of Allah (swt)

Humility

Avoiding idle pursuits

Shunning the Kuffar

Drawing close to people of religious commitment

Accepting the divine decree

Removing harmful things from the road
