Saudah-02 /02
Saudah bint Zam’ah (ra), makes her second Hijrah, migration.
When Muslims in Makkah were being oppressed and tortured the Prophet (saw) decided to migrate to Al-Madinah with Abu Bakr Siddique.
On reaching Al-Madinah and settling down, he sent Zaid bin Harithah and abu Rafi’a to Makkah with some camels and 500 dirhams to bring all the members of his family which consisted of Saudah (ra), Ruqayyah (ra), Umm Kulthoom (ra), and Fatimah (ra).
Aishah (ra), touched by Saudah’s (ra), gesture.
When Saudah (ra), became older she feared that the Prophet (saw) would divorce her she entrusted Aishah (ra), the time allotted to her.
Aishah (ra), was very touched by her gesture and they became even closer than before
Saudah,(ra), heart was pure and totally free of jealousy or malice.
Saudah bint Zam’ah (ra), gesture to Aishah (ra), was reason for the revelation of the following Ayat.
Al-Nisa 4:126
For, unto God belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth; and, indeed, God encompasses everything.
Saudah bint Zam’ah (ra), pleased the Prophet (saw) with her humor.
A healthy tall stature woman with a fine sense of humor was Saudah (ra).
Sha (ra), would present comical image of holding her nose in prayer describing her long ruku’ with the Prophet (saw). He saws would burst into laughter at her simplicity.
Her fear of Dajjal and the Prophet (saw) would be amused as well.
On one occasion, whilst eating a meal, Aishah stuffed Saudah’s (ra), mouth with a food she declined and the Prophet (saw)would smile with all of them.
Goes to show the light hearted gaiety and pleasant ambience in the Prophet’s (saw), household.
However when the Adhan would be called, He (saw) would immediately rise and leave for the mosque as if he did not even know them.
Saudah bint Zam’ah (ra), and Zainab bint Jahash (ra) models of obedience.
After the Prophet’s saws, farewell Hajj, he told his wives that they should remain in their homes as it was the Will of Allah swt.
Saudah (ra), and Zainab bint Jahash did not travel after the death of Prophet (saw) and stayed in their homes in Al-Madinah, saying they would follow the command of Allah (swt).
Saudah bint Zam’ah’s (ra), generosity.
Saudah (ra), was extremely generous. During his rule Umar bin Khattab (ra), sent her a bag full of dirhams. She (ra), distributed the money among the poor and needy
She (ra), was attributed to narrating five authentic Ahadith.
Saudah bint Zam’ah ra, passess away in Al-Madinah
Saudah (ra), passed away during the caliphate of Umar bin Khattab (ra), and was buried in Jannatul-Baqi.
Allah swt, gives them good news in Al-Fajr
“O the one in complete rest and satisfaction! Comeback to your Lord-well pleased(yourself) and well-pleasing (unto Him)! Enter you them among My (honored) servants, and enter you My Paradise” (89:27-30)
